Residents have been urged to leave their homes as a bushfire rages in Perth’s southern suburbs.
DFES issued an update at 3.11pm on Sunday advising those in the affected area to prepare to leave.
“There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is burning and conditions are changing,” the warning read.
“If your plan is to leave, leave now.”
It is understood the blaze broke out in an area of bushland on Lugg Place in Casuarina shortly before 12.45pm on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said it is believed the bushfire had spread to a nearby shed.
Residents in the area bounded by Landgren Road, Mortimer Road, Kwinana Freeway and Orton Road in Casuarina have been issued an urgent Watch and Act warning by authorities.

Firefighting crews from Hope Valley, Cockburn, Kwinana, and Oakford are working to contain the blaze.
A bushfire brigade from Mandogalup have also been deployed to the scene.
