Port Kennedy BP service station cashier locks himself in room after group of youths broke-in

A petrol station cashier in Perth’s south was forced to lock himself in a room after a break-in involving youths.

A staff member at the BP service station on Warnbro Sound Avenue in Port Kennedy activated a duress alarm about 9.20pm on Wednesday after the group forced open the locked front sliding doors.

Once inside, the gang intimidated the cashier and threw food items around the premises.

The staff member retreated to a secure staff room and remained there until police arrived. He was not hurt.

Firefighters were also called as a result of the security fogging system activating from the break-in.

The group was gone by the time police arrived. No one has been arrested.
