Euroz Hartleys: Perth stockbroking firm raises vital funds for Perth charities

Stockbroking firm Euroz Hartleys has again raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for three Perth charities, as part of its annual Commission with a Cause. Since 2019 the unique fundraiser has given a selection of charities a share of the total value of the company’s brokerage commissions made on the day of the event — with about $1.5 million raised so far. Breast Cancer Care WA, Ocean Heroes and the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation will each pocket $100,000 this year, with PCHF planning to purchase a portable simulation training manikin with the donation. Executive chairman Andrew McKenzie said the event usually attracted transactions five times the value of their normal daily trades as people got behind the cause. “The event creates a real buzz from the moment trading opened at 8am, with many large institutional clients timing their trades so that they could make a difference knowing the brokerage commissions were going to worthy charities,” he said. As part of the event, Wildcats Players David Okwera and Michael Harris joined Bondi Rescue Lifeguards Mitch Palmer and Lachie McArthur on the trading-room floor to encourage fundraising.
