South West tennis league a smash hit as community engagement reigns supreme

Tennis WA stakeholders are thrilled with the recent success of the South West Adult League, which wrapped up earlier this month.
Across the board, 120 players participated in the absorbing competition, comprised of clubs from Bunbury, Busselton, Dunsborough, Margaret River, Brunswick, Collie and Australind.
Tennis West regional south club development officer Scott Culpin highlighted the significance of the competition, given the fact the league was the first of its kind for more than a decade.
“Leagues like the SWAL and SWJL are a fantastic way for players to meet others of a similar ability, experience different playing styles, be part of a team in a mostly individual sport and to bring out that competitiveness,” he said.
“This season had a great turn out and we expect next season to be even greater.”
The South West Junior League was highly popular, with 50 children taking part, in a bid to foster camaraderie across all clubs on and off the court.
