The community was invited to take a trip around the world at the weekend, without having to leave Busselton.
The foreshore was bustling with colour, music and the aroma of international cuisine as crowds gathered for the annual Multicultural Festival on March 15.
Stalls transformed the waterfront into a vibrant celebration of culture, with festival-goers sampling flavours and learning about traditions from around the globe.
Attendees also enjoyed traditional dance and music performances on the main stage from cultures spanning Indonesia, Thailand, Mongolia, Japan and the Philippines.
Busselton Multicultural Festival coordinator Yati Winfield said the event was about sharing culture while celebrating the community the participants now call home.
“We are Australian, but we never forget where we come from,” she said.
“We are settled here but we never forget our roots.”
One of the day’s highlights was a cooking demonstration hosted by Bunbury Farmers Market head chef Nathan Thomas alongside Multicultural Interests Minister Tony Buti.
The pair whipped up a classic bread and butter pudding, with eager spectators lining up for a taste.
