A bushfire in Perth’s north-east has been downgraded as firefighters continue to patrol the area and mop up.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued an emergency warning for parts of Bullsbrook about on Monday afternoon, before downgrading it to an advice level about 9.10pm.

The bushfire — which ignited last Wednesday afternoon — is stationary, contained and under control.

The cause of the blaze has been deemed accidental.

A DFES spokesperson confirmed there was no threat to lives or homes, but warned “there may be smoke in the area”.

“The threat of the fire has reduced however you should take care in the area,” the spokesperson said.

“Stay alert for potential dangers such as smoke and fallen trees and power poles.”

Firefighters were on the scene fighting the blaze on Monday afternoon, with several water-bombers assisting ground crews from the sky.

Tonkin Highway — which was closed for several hours — has been reopened with a reduced speed limit of 80km/h.
