Great Southern jockeys Natasha Faithfull and Jessica Gray have both landed trebles in the last week in the north of the State.

Gray, who hails from Tenterden, is based in Broome for the racing season and rode three winners at Saturday’s meeting.

Albany-raised Faithfull also recorded a treble, at Monday’s rescheduled Carnarvon meeting.

Gray teamed with Darryn Pateman to win race three on the seven-event card in Broome, as Husstarr won by more than a length.

In The Bag made it successive wins when he spanked his rivals in race four over 1600m for Gray.

The Yannick Valenti-trained gelding was a dominant winner in his first start in the dirt this campaign and jumped a raging $1.80 favourite to lead from start to finish, Gray easing him down at the line to win by almost four lengths.

In the final race of the day Gray saluted on the Pateman-trained Powerful, edging out Sheik It by 0.8 lengths in the 1435m event.

Gray has ridden four winners at the first three meetings of the new Broome season.

Faithfull dominated the Carnarvon fixture, winning three of the seven races at the dirt venue.

Amelia’s Chant was a narrow half-head winner in the opening race over 1400m for trainer Zach Tyler and Faithfull.

Faithfull was just edged out in the second race, going down by a long head, but she bounced back in race three over 1600m to hand Tyler a winning double after Mystical Man proved far too strong.

After minor placings in the next two events, Faithfull rounded out her treble with victory aboard the Tyler-trained Regal City.

Regal City sat second before sprinting clear in the straight to win by more than five lengths.

It was a huge day for Faithfull with three winners, two seconds and a third from her six rides.

She is enjoying a wonderful season in the saddle, with 89 winners in total to sit fourth behind Clint Johnston-Porter, Chris Parnham and William Pike in the WA premiership.
