Top senior jockey Chris Parnham will look to regain the outright lead in the Great Southern Jockeys’ Premiership with a strong book of rides at Albany Racing Club today.

Parnham currently sits equal with Kyra Yuill at the top of the standings after the latter rode a winning double last meeting.

With just four meetings left in the Great Southern season, both riders sit on 11 winners thus far.

Parnham has a full book of rides on the seven-race program at Percy Spencer Racecourse, while Yuill has mounts in five races.

Top Albany trainer Roy Rogers will team up in every race with Parnham, headlined by promising gallopers Strathmore Rose, Captain Sharmane and Brazen Arrow.

Strathmore Rose looks well placed in race six after running a gallant third at a Saturday Ascot meeting last start.

The three-year-old filly will jump from barrier seven in the field of 10 with 55kg.

Captain Sharmane, a three-year-old filly, will be looking to make it two wins in a line when she starts in the Pelicans Albany Handicap today.

Parnham will partner Captain Sharmane from barrier eight with 59.5kg.

Promising maiden runner Brazen Arrow will be looking to break through at career start 12 for Rogers.

After running the Magic Millions 2YO Classic early in its career, the gelding hasn’t been able to break through yet but has a strong chance this afternoon.

In the small field of six Brazen Arrow will jump from barrier six in race one with 57.5kg.

Parnham will also ride Read The Riot Act in race two, A Touchy Subject in race three, along with Dancing Jack (race five) and Kazkazi (race seven).

The first race will be run at 1.42pm.
