Young gymnast Ruby Beckett has impressed on the trampoline at the national qualifiers on March 15 in Perth, coming away with two silver medals and earning a State call-up.

The 10-year-old received her best marks of her trampoline and double mini trampoline career so far to be selected for the State team that was heading away to the Australian Championships in May in Melbourne.

The titles since been cancelled because of the COVID-19 crisis.

Ruby excelled on the trampoline winning two silver medals in the under-13 division.

With still two years left in that age group, Ruby only trains two hours a week at Flipzone compared to some of her rivals who are doing 10-12 hours a week.

The youngster scored an impressive 5.3 over what she needed to qualify for nationals and on the double mini trampoline she was 1.8 over the qualifying score.

Ruby scored equal points as the winner in the final but was given the silver medal as her rival scored better marks in the final.
