The accused man has been charged with murder, grievous bodily harm, aggravated robbery, stealing and gaining benefit by fraud.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on March 27.

The charge comes weeks after Brodie Dewar, 20, was charged with manslaughter following an alleged one-punch attack on Labor figure Tim Picton.
Mr Picton was allegedly knocked unconscious in a one-punch attack outside a Perth nightclub in the early hours of December 27 last year. He died from his injuries in hospital about three weeks later.
Mr Dewar was also charged with causing bodily harm over a similar alleged one-punch attack that occurred outside a Kalamunda pub days earlier.
Mr Dewar has been granted bail while his matter progresses through the courts.
