2025 Genesis GV80 price and specs
Genesis’ rival to the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE has received a mid-life update, and has gained a new coupe SUV sibling to take on the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
The 2025 Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe are available now.
While the GV80 Coupe will be offered overseas with a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 featuring a 48V electric supercharger, producing 309kW of power and 549Nm of torque, this powertrain isn’t coming here as it’s only available with left-hand drive.
Instead, the Australian-market GV80 Coupe shares the same twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 as the GV80 wagon, producing 279kW and 530Nm.
The erstwhile entry-level 2.5-litre turbo petrol was dropped locally for model year 2024, and now the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel six has followed it out the door after its global axing.
The GV80 and GV80 Coupe also come standard with the features of the old $10,500 Luxury Pack, so the entry price of the range has climbed by $24,300.
The six-seat version includes all the equipment from the pre-update model’s $13,500 six-seat Luxury Pack.
Compared to the pre-facelift model with the Luxury Pack equipped, the price increase is smaller at $9300 (or $9600 for the six-seat version).
Genesis says the Luxury Pack had a 95 per cent take rate, which made the decision to fit it as standard an easy one for the brand.
The wagon is available in six- and seven-seat configurations, and the only options available across the range are a rear-seat entertainment package and matte paint.
Exterior changes are subtle, with redesigned headlights with Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology and a refreshed grille and bumpers.
The Coupe has a slightly different front and rear bumper treatment, different 22-inch alloy wheels, and, naturally, a different roof line.
Inside, there’s a new 27-inch OLED display encompassing a digital instrument cluster and infotainment touchscreen.
Below this sits a 6.0-inch touch-capacitive climate control interface, while the centre console has been redesigned with a new wireless phone charger tray, a volume knob, and enlarged cupholders, among other changes.
There’s also a new steering wheel design – flat-bottomed in the Coupe – as well as repositioned pedals and a new Bang & Olufsen sound system, replacing the old Lexicon unit.
The Coupe features a different range of interior colourways, plus exclusive real carbon-fibre trim in place of the wagon’s wood and metal inlays.
Genesis has confirmed the GV80 has a carryover suspension tune. The pre-facelift model had received an upgraded tune in 2023, with software changes deployed to improve body control.
Mechanical changes are minor for 2025, but include upgraded monobloc front brake calipers. The Coupe gains a new Sport+ drive mode plus a Flex Brake feature that allows you to customise the responsiveness of the brake pedal.
The suite of active safety and driver assist features has received some upgrades, with Genesis introducing the latest version of features like Highway Driving Assist and Lane Following Assist.

Drivetrains
With the 2.5-litre turbo-petrol and 3.0-litre turbo-diesel gone, there’s just one engine left.
Both the 2025 Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe are powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine producing 279kW of power at 5800rpm and 530Nm of torque between 1300 and 4500rpm.
Both models use an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and rear-biased all-wheel drive with active torque control between the front and rear axles.
Genesis claims a 0-100km/h time of 5.6 seconds for the wagon and 5.7 seconds for the coupe.
Efficiency
The 2025 Genesis GV80 and GV80 Coupe use 11.7L/100km on the combined cycle.
They require a minimum of 95 RON premium unleaded fuel and feature an 80L fuel tank.
The GV80 and GV80 Coupe meet Euro 5 emissions standards.
Dimensions
The 2025 Genesis GV80 measures 4940mm long, 1975mm wide (excluding the mirrors) and 1715mm tall.
The GV80 Coupe measures 4956mm long, 1975mm wide and 1710mm tall.
Both body styles have a 2955mm wheelbase.
Behind the second row, the GV80 has 735L, expanding to 1097L with the second row dropped; these figures are 644L and 1033L, respectively, for the GV80 Coupe.
Minimum ground clearance, measured to the cross-member, is 205mm in the wagon and 207mm in the coupe. Maximum wading depth is 400mm on both.
Braked towing capacity is 2722kg, while unbraked is 750kg. Maximum towball weight is 182kg.
Kerb weight is 2225-2345kg in the wagon and 2205-2325kg in the coupe.
Servicing and Warranty
The GV80 range is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years or 50,000km of complimentary scheduled servicing.
Servicing is required every 12 months or 10,000km, and Genesis offers its Genesis To You service during the warranty period.
This sees a valet come pick up your Genesis for servicing and leave you with another Genesis vehicle. The complimentary pickup service is only available if you’re within 70km driving distance from the Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane CBDs.
There’s five years of roadside assistance, extending to 10 years if you service your vehicle with Genesis.
