New Zealand pop superstar Lorde plans to tour the world next year on Solar Power.

The Royals singer isn’t using renewable energy, rather she’s hitting the road armed with nature-inspired tunes from her third album — Solar Power — due for release later this year.

The 24-year-old born Ella Yelich-O’Connor fires up at the picturesque Neudorf Vineyards in Nelson, New Zealand before winding up the nine-date Australasian leg at Belvoir Amphitheatre on March 19.

The Perth performance will be Lorde’s first in WA since she played Kings Park in late 2017.

Her first new music in four years, Solar Power’s title track was released earlier this month.

The sun-bleached indie pop anthem set the tone for her new album, which follows Grammy Award-winning 2013 debut Pure Heroine and 2017’s chart-topping Melodrama.

“The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors,” Lorde said of Solar Power as her world tour was rolled out today.

“In times of heartache, grief, deep love or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers.

“I’ve learnt to breathe out, and tune in,” she added. “This is what came through.”

Since breaking through to global acclaim with debut single Royals in 2013, Lorde has amassed more than 12 million album sales and 10 billion streams of her hits, which also include Tennis Court, Team and Green Light.

The world tour will also include dates in Europe, the UK and North America next year.

Tickets to her New Zealand and Australian concerts go on sale on July 5, with pre-sales starting on June 28.
