Taruga Minerals and Peak Minerals have begun moving-loop electromagnetic surveys at the duo’s Target B prospect near Meekatharra in WA.

The prospect is a priority geophysical target within the Meekatharra nickel-copper joint venture between Peak and Taruga.

Target B forms part of Peak’s larger Green Rocks project that also incorporates the Rixon and Lady Alma prospects included in the survey.

The results aim to optimise identified and existing drill targets and also identify additional anomalism at depths below approximately 250m.

Another key outcome is to confirm and constrain significant conductors from Peak’s recent heli-electromagnetic survey.

A total of 13 lines and 22 line-kilometres of surveying is planned that includes four lines at Target B with nine lines at Rixon and Lady Alma.

Peak says the surveys are a critical step before installing heli-electromagnetic conductors with results expected by the end of May.

Target B is part of an in-earn agreement with Taruga where Peak has an option to purchase up to 80 per cent of the tenement.

A small northern area of the Rixon prospect is also part of an earn-in agreement with Technology Metals Australia where Peak also has the option to purchase up to 80 per cent of that tenement.

A total of 18 air core holes were recently completed at Target B to test interpreted mafic-ultramafic intrusions.

Twelve holes were drilled across Peak’s Tal Val and Target C prospects whilst the remaining six probed Target B.

The shared prospect hosts a strong, previously unidentified, electromagnetic conductor 250m below the surface and measuring 500m x 300m.

Taruga holds a number of projects across South Australia and Western Australia with its target minerals ranging from copper and nickel to PGEs and rare earths.
